I happened to look in the direction of our sliding glass door to the deck as a mourning dove flew past. I snuck over for a peek and was rewarded with this:
How cool is that? Deux oeufs!
The male of the mourning dove pair guards the nest during the day, and the female takes the night shift. So, this 2 minute window into the world under our feathered roommates must have taken place during a shift change. I feel very lucky. The universe has given me another gift.
We should have two additional avian friends in a couple of weeks.
Stay tuned!

That is very, very cool! Last year we were blessed with the opportunity to watch robins build a nest, lay eggs, incubate the eggs and see the eggs hatch.
You're gonna love it.
Cool, totally cool. I've been privileged to watch this with bald eagles and great horned owls, but need a spotting scope to watch them.
